Creamy, lightly sweet and packed with protein, this simple fruit dip has been a favorite in my recipe box for years. The secret ingredient? Cottage cheese. The latest addition that notched it up on the protein meter? Peanut butter powder. Blend the ingredients together and you get a dip that tastes indulgent yet gives you enough protein to sustain you. A little orange juice concentrate adds a sweet tang, while peanut butter and peanut butter powder bring classic peanut butter flavor without making the dip heavy.
Serve it with crisp apple slices for an easy afternoon snack, or pair it with celery sticks, pretzels, graham crackers, or strawberries for a crowd-pleasing addition to brunches, showers or summer gatherings.

How to Make It
This one is a serious no-brainer. It’s a dump recipe, meaning you add all the ingredients together, mix, then serve. I use a mini food processor, an item I stupidly resisted buying for years, thinking I would never use it, but now pull it out at least three times a week (for dips, dressings, marinades, pestos, chimichurri, sauces… ).

Mini Food Processor
I pretty much use this machine on the daily. It’s easy to clean so I don’t mind pulling it out to whip up everything from dips and dressings to pestos and sauces.
If you don’t have a food processor or blender, no worries: You can stir the dip together in a bowl and serve. Just know it won’t be as smooth.
Instructions
- Add the cottage cheese, peanut butter powder, peanut butter, orange juice concentrate and water to a blender or small food processor.
- Blend until completely smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
- Transfer to a serving bowl.
- Serve immediately with apple slices or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
Tips
- For a sweeter dip, add an extra tablespoon of orange juice concentrate.
- For a thicker consistency, reduce the water slightly.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

The Verdict
This is one of those old-school recipes that deserves a comeback, especially with the extra jolt of protein thanks to peanut butter powder. It has the flavor of peanut butter dip while sneaking in a generous amount of protein, making it a smarter option than many packaged snack dips. Keep a batch in the refrigerator for after-school snacks, post-workout fuel, or when you’re craving something sweet that sates you.
